Valentine's Love

We've been doing a lot of painting lately.  So fun to do with Hakan and it keeps him busy for a while.  Yes, there's always a little bit of clean up...especially if mommy is working on something else and isn't watching for a little bit, which results in a head to toe painted little boy, oops.  I'll have to get some pictures next time:)

The other day we were using water colors, probably my favorite medium, and I decided to cut out a bunch of hearts from the painted pictures and tape them to some twine.  I hung them in our living over the window.

Then I also decided to make these Red Velvet Whoopie Pies for the Women's Bible study I go to.

They turned out delicious and beautiful:)

I think next time, I'll make them a little smaller, cause they're pretty rich.

What's everyone doing for Valentine's Day?  

We don't usually do a whole lot...my birthday is on the 19, so we usually do all the celebrating then:)  But we did get free tickets to Jeff Allen's comedy show for tomorrow night and have some awesome friends watching the kids, so DATE NIGHT!!  I'm really excited if you can't tell.  It's been a while and is very much needed.  My mother-in-law is also coming this weekend, so we should be able to get another date night in, two in one week, awesome!
