World's Largest Buffalo

We spent a busy week out of town.

First up, a good friend from high school got married and we got to catch up with some old swim buddies:)

Me, Aundrea, Betsy (she's an OB nurse who came to the hospital when I was supposed to have Hakan, who has to be one of the best nurses ever:) and Jenny.

Then we went to our home town for a few days, which also just happens to have the world's largest buffalo.

It had been years since we had actually gone to see it, so Derek's mom and sister and my sister all came with too.

Of course we have real buffalo, and two of them happen to be albino, White Cloud and her baby named Dakota Miracle.  Native American's consider albino buffalo's as sacred.

I don't actually know which albino buffalo this is.

Hakan loves trains!

My little fish went swimming.

We took Hakan to his first movie theater movie, Madagascar 3, he loved it!

We had an awesome Fourth of July too, but I'll put that in it's own post.

Father's Day

I'm only a month behind on my posts...so Happy Father's Day!

We're kind of low key celebrator's of these holidays.  Some friends invited us over for lunch after church to their beautiful home.  And then took pictures with their fun camera, as I completely forgot mine.

Last year I wrote a little bit about my three dad's here.

Every year that passes, I find myself doing things that remind me of one of my dad's.

I am so thankful for Derek, who takes care of our family not only financially, but he's loving and patient with all of us.  I know that God made him the father of our children for a reason and he is perfect for them.

I had the kids paint some pictures for daddy.

Then I tried to take these pictures to frame for daddy...SO difficult to get them both looking with the letters...impossible really, but super cute:)

We ended up using this cute water color bubble art for the background.

Adeline's 1st Birthday Pinwheel Party

Our baby turned ONE!

I love that both our baby's birthdays are in the summer:)  I decided to go with pinwheels, fun to make, fun to watch, just all around fun!

It was such an amazing day celebrating with family and friends.  Thanks to everyone for helping out and making it special!  Parties are so awesome!

Just ignore the garage in the background;)

We made some raspberry lemonade smoothies in bell jars and just stuck them in the freezer until the party and since it was 95 degrees out, they "slushed" up pretty quick and tasted delicious!

I used some pipe cleaners and yarn to spell out her name.

The little buckets were party favors.

I made the little pinwheel cupcake toppers.

Everyone at the party wrote a little message on some puzzle pieces that I'll put a picture from her birthday on.

Yep, nice garage in the background:)

Adeline's first year in pics.

The birthday cake I made.

Adeline's Great G'ma Mae.

I made her little outfit and headband.

My lovely husband in charge of burgers and hot dogs.  Love him!

We set up a pool and slip n' slide, which works perfectly on my mom's crazy hilly yard...it took Hakan a few times to figure out how to run and slide on his belly.

Adeline's favorite gift, puffs.

Such a great day!  Can't wait for Hakan's third birthday party!
