breezy

I have so many posts from august and september, but this is from this weekend, and the rest will come eventually...hopefully :)

Derek's cousin, Breezy, came to visit the U of M and then spent Sunday with us.  We haven't seen her in probably 9 years, they live in Washington state.  We had such a fun day with her at the MN Zoo, it was so beautiful out!  The kids loved her of course and had a blast!

(I sewed this skirt, I love the fabric!)

She even volunteered to babysit while we went to a benefit dinner for Twin Cities Rise, one of Derek's clients and an awesome nonprofit that not only helps people get back into the work field, but empowers them.  It was held at one of the coolest venues I've been to, the Aria in Minneapolis.  I want to get married again and have it there, seriously amazing.

We paid her in Coco Wheats...they don't have them in Washington, and they're delicious:)  Apparently, going through security, three boxes of them are suspicious and had to be wiped for "residue."

Backtracking a bit to Saturday, we actually picked up my sister, Sammy, from Bethel, and went to Como Zoo.  Yep, two zoo's in one weekend, crazy animal lovers here.  It was rainy, but that just makes it less busy and perfect :)

A baby giraffe, are you kidding me, the cutest thing ever!

They had a tarantula exhibit...a little creepy, but still amazing creatures.

Typical family picture, as Adeline is almost face first into the pond behind us.

This polar bear is ginormous...I mean only a few feet difference between us:)

Having my sister so close is awesome!  We love getting to see her more.  And maybe Breezy will decide to move here too;)

ND trip and mini wentz reunion

Derek has an aunt and uncle and two cousins that live in Florida, and we haven't seen them in 9 years, but his cousin, Connor, is going to NDSU to play football, go Bison (he has another cousin, Carson, that plays quarterback for them as well, he played last game)!  Since they were all coming up to move him in, a lot of the other family got together for a mini reunion.  So off to North Dakota we went!  Our parents live three blocks away from each other, lots of family time when we go home, so fun!

On our way out of town, we stopped at YoYo Donuts...oh my goodness we have have an extreme weakness for good donuts and these are some of our favorite!  (we did not eat all 8 donuts in one day...just 6, ha!)

Bubbles with cousins.

We celebrated both Hakan and Adeline's birthdays with family and G'ma Wendy got them both their own cake, awesome!

New toys, zoooom!

There was always a puzzle on the table to work on, Hakan even got a few pieces, he's really good at them.

There was a celebration at The Buffalo...we have the world's largest buffalo you know...cement buffalo anyway:)

Waiting to watch a live reenactment in the Frontier Fort.

Buffalo in the background.

They were trying to push the buffalo over, no luck.

I'm not sure how many pictures I have in front of this buffalo, but it's a lot!

Adeline's first french braid, super small, but it's there!

Derek and I even got to sneak away for 9 holes of golf...my first time golfing since before Hakan, 4 years!  It's pretty funny, before kids, I would get so frustrated and angry when I golfed, obviously I'm not good, but I had so much fun just being outside with Derek, getting par 73 on only 9 holes, ha!  I think we need to golf one more time this year before it gets cold.

This picture is so sweet, great g'ma Proxie.

At the Wentz family gathering, so fun to see family!

Potlucks are the best!

Cousins eating picnic style.

This is our first attempt at a family picture, both Hakan and Adeline wanted absolutely nothing to do with it...below is our second attempt, way better :)

This picture makes me laugh!

All four kids, all grown up.

Cousins...Adeline was freaking out, so Derek is actually behind the chairs on the ground with Adeline on his back, ha!

I'm a little sad we didn't get one big picture with everyone in it, but maybe next time:)

This was when we were almost home, crazy beautiful clouds over the river.

We love our trips back home!
